Getting ready for Christmas!
I'm getting ready for Christmas! What do you think of my Christmas Collar? It even has jingle bells on it! (All the better to forewarn the cat when I'm coming, ha!)
Let me pose this way so you can get another look at it!
Hopefully Santa brings me lots of presents! I've been a good dog! Except for that underwear incident......ssh!!

Scoundrel
"Hi there! I'm stepping in for my mommy today while she's studying. I upset her a little bit today when I took a pair of her underpants and ran in the yard with it waving it like a flag! You should've seen her chasing me! Especially when the neighbor that lives in back of us came outside w/ his dogs and saw what I was doing. I think the last straw was when I started digging a hole and burying the underwear in the dirt. That's a no-no! And mommy is still scratching her head trying to figure out how I got that underwear! But I'll never tell..."

Be quiet when you go fishing
Today I learned you have to be quiet when your parents are fishing. Usually Berners aren't known for being gratuitous barkers.
But then I started barking at this fish. I wanted to say hello.
I was going to give this fishy a kiss, but then I saw the worm on the side of his head. Yuck!
I don't know why I have to sit back here. I think I can catch a fish myself....

Puppy playdate with my siblings!
Sunday was a very fun day for me! I got to have a playdate with some of my siblings! In the photo below, I am on the top right. My brother is to the left. And on the bottom are my sisters Izzy and Ella. (Izzy and Ella growled at me at first, but by the end of the day we were playing nicely and chasing each other all over the park!
There were adult Berners to play with too! They weren't my siblings, but they were just as fun!
This is Duke. He weighs over 100 lbs and is a show dog. He was the one who told us puppies to "cool it" when we were getting on his nerves.
Here are the BIG dogs laughing at us silly puppies running around.
Chasing each other is one of our favorite games.
Here is one of my sisters tackling me!
My brother Jet was very sweet and gave me lots of puppy kisses!
One day I'll be as big as these beautiful dogs!

Scout tells jokes
Scout has a few dog jokes she found at Doggies Paradise's website and thought she would share them with you!
A wife says to her husband one weekend morning, "We've got such a clever dog. He brings in the daily newspapers every morning." Her husband replies, "Well, lots of dogs can do that." The wife responded, "But we've never subscribed to any!"

A burglar is sneaking through this house one night, when out of the darkness comes a voice, "I can see you, and so can Jesus".
The burglar freezes in his tracks and is too frightened to move. After ten minutes, nothing has happened so he moves forward. Again from the darkness comes the voice, "I can see you, and so can Jesus". The burglar is petrified and too frightened to move a muscle.
After thirty minutes, he decides to do something. He backs very slowly and tentatively to the wall and feels around for a light switch. He switches on the light and there in front of him, sit a cockatoo in a cage, who says, "I can see you, and so can Jesus".
Greatly relieved, the burglar sighs, "It's just a cocky". The cocky looks at the burglar and says, "I might be just a cocky but Jesus is a big German Shepherd".

During break time at obedience school, two dogs were talking.
One said to the other..."The thing I hate about obedience school is you learn ALL this stuff you will never use in the real world."

My "first" mom
Recently my mommy went on a trip! So I got to stay with my "biological" mom and 2 of my sisters while she was gone. I knew we were going to be doing a lot of playing!
Here I am greeting my mommy Maggie with kisses! I tried hugging her but she is very tall!
Isn't she beautiful? I hope to grow up to look just like her!

Why am I in this dress?
Why am I in this dress you ask?
Cuz my mommy entered me in a Doggy Parade this weekend. Please don't tell anyone what I was wearing!
Check out some of the competition for best dressed!
C'mon! Aren't I cuter than this doggie???
I didn't win any prizes, but a lot of people came up to me to ask me what kind of dog I was! I think I have some new Bernese Mountain dog fans!

Moments that melt my heart
My husband is one of a kind. For the past few years, he has wanted a hunting dog. A German short-hair, a Brittany, a Lab - a dog that would be a great hunting companion when we head to our log home in northern Michigan.
But I wore him down. I've wanted a Bernese Mountain Dog for a long time. I started showing him photos, books and basically pleaded my case. "You don't hunt that much" and "a Bernese Mountain Dog is a member of the family, intelligent, wonderful personality..." And being the good hearted husband that he is, he finally agreed.
And seeing Scout hug her daddy and wag her tail when he walks in the door, I think it's safe to say he doesn't regret giving in to me.

My favorite toy
Hi! Wanted to show you my favorite toy - my fleeced bunny rabbit. My favorite part is the rope ears which I love to gnaw on. At night, I sleep cuddled up with my bunny.
Mom says to continue gnawing on the bunny and the bones but not the kitty or her! I'm trying my hardest.... but you know I'm just a teething puppy! :-)

Scout's first day at home!
Scout wanted to show you what her first day was like with her new family!
She really enjoyed playing in the yard and seeing how many woodchips she could put in her mouth before her mommy could catch her to pull them out!
Scout met Marvin the cat and tried to show him who was boss. Marvin had other ideas and gave Scout a friendly swap on the nose and said "pipe down youngster!"
Here is Scout giving her mommy and daddy the loving eyes!
And then there were puppy naps!
And more puppy naps!
