Be quiet when you go fishing

Today I learned you have to be quiet when your parents are fishing. Usually Berners aren't known for being gratuitous barkers.

But then I started barking at this fish. I wanted to say hello.

I was going to give this fishy a kiss, but then I saw the worm on the side of his head. Yuck!

I don't know why I have to sit back here. I think I can catch a fish myself....

My little kids don't understand the quiet concept either much to the disgust of their older siblings!!

PS My daughter just walked by and went "ohhhh cute doggy can we get him?"!!

Hi - found your blog - we also have a Berner puppy, now 6 months old. This is the 2nd tune for us to have a Berner, and we also have a Jack Russell, so they play, play and play some more, even tho our JR is 7 years old. Check my blog out, www.westsideofstraight.blogspot.com
Your puppy is a beauty too, and what or where were all the other Berners. I'm alone in this area of Minn.

Scout -

We were watching Americas Funniest Animal Videos and there was one of a dog catching fish... if he can do it you can to.... Those humans, they probably don't want you to show them off! Umpfh~!

Good call on the kissing thing, he looks kinda slimy... ewwwwww

We think that you should ask your momma to bake you some of our cookies and keep those cute lips of yours off that worm - YECH!

My son and daughter-in-law live on a river in the U.P. Their two labs do go down and "fish" when the salmon are running upstream in the spring. It is quite a sight!

You did really great sitting there during fishing! I know it's tempting!!!!! Believe me, I'll get excited about ANYTHING! and probably let out a few barks too.

Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

Is this now Scout the Bernese Fishing Dog blog. Kaiser says that he likes rolling in dead fish that he finds and hates when Mom and Dad give him a bath to get rid of the smell.

Watch out for the fins Scout. We will have to get the play date scheduled.

Whoa! Your folks take you fishing?? Do you know what a lucky dog you are?? Usually only Labs get to go fishing 'cause they seem to be the only really good sitters and stayers. (Terriers are notorious for doing our own thing!!) That yucky worm would have probably been eaten by Hootie. Hahaha. He's part fish I guess.
